Sofas and chairs.

There are specially designed chairs and sofas that make them easier to use. Some have a higher seat height, others have a motorised pad that helps to lift you out of the seat. Others have a powered recliner function so you can be more comfortable.

There are many types of cushions, pads and wedges that make sofas and chairs easier to sit on and get up from (sometimes called riser cushions), and tables and trays that you can place next to or on a sofa to stabilize the surface for a plate, a tablet or laptop computer. There are also lap trays with a built in cushion.

Television.

Changing the height of your television may make it easier to see and use. There are lots of options to help you to use your television, to hear the sound or view the picture. There are replacement remote controls with fewer or simpler controls. There are speakers that can play the sound from the television where you are sat, and magnifiers that can make the picture bigger.

If you have a smart device like Google Home or Amazon Alexa you may be able to use this to control your television with your voice. Most of these smart devices will also play radio stations.
