Christmas Support 2024
Sheffield Family Hubs will close on Tuesday 24th December and will re-open on Thursday 2nd January 2025 at 8:30am.
Groups will restart week commencing Monday 6th January 2025.
As the festive season approaches, we understand it can be a time of both magic and challenges for families.
On this page, you’ll find some useful contacts to support you during the festive period. Remember, you’re not alone.
- National Breastfeeding Helpline: 0300 100 0212
- Jessop Wing / Call the Midwife Hotline: For any questions you have about your pregnancy or care. Ask the midwife via the 24 hour Advice Line 0114 226 8091
- NHS help: While dialling 999 or attending A&E is essential for life-threatening injury or illness, there is a wide range of other help available, including:
- The Minor Injuries Unit at the Royal Hallamshire
- The NHS 111 service, available online or via phone to advise on the best course of action. Patients can often be booked into appointments, including for urgent dental treatment.
- Community pharmacists, who can provide urgent advice and medication for winter ailments and do not need an appointment.
- Urgent Mental Health Support: If you are experiencing something that makes you feel unsafe, distressed, or worried about your mental health, you can contact your local crisis service in Sheffield by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option. You can call for yourself or for someone else.
If you or a loved one is already receiving support from one of our services, and you are in a mental health crisis and need urgent help, you can still contact the team that is working with you during office hours. Outside of office hours please contact NHS111.
NHS 111 is for all ages, including children and young people, and those with neurodevelopmental needs.

- Domestic Abuse: Sheffield Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 808 2241 (Monday – Friday : 8am – 8pm, Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays 11am – 8pm) Outside of these hours call the National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247 available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency ring 999.
