    Congratulations on your new baby! Registering a birth is one of the first thing you will do as a new parent. All births in England, Wales and Northern Ireland must be registered within 42 days of the child being born – that’s 6 weeks. How to register a birth For babies born in Sheffield, you can book an appointment to register the birth at Sheffield Town Hall or First Start Family Hub. Book an appointment to register a baby born in Sheffield Do not ring. The only appointments available are those online. To book online, choose a time and date for an appointment for you to attend to complete the entry. You can still select the next available appointment if you have recently received a letter asking you to register your baby. If the baby was not born in Sheffield, either contact the Register Office for the district where the birth took place or ask about registering…

This service supports young people who have a disability to move from children's to adult social care services. The service carries out an assessment of your needs for social care support as a young adult. This is sometimes called: a social care assessment, Care Act assessment Transitions assessment. The service also helps young people who get support from adult social care to plan what help they need putting in place. In Sheffield this is called a care and support plan.     Cygnet 16th April 2025 - 25th June 2025 Cygnet is a parenting support programme for parents and carers of children aged 10+ who are Autistic. Parents of children on the autistic spectrum face the usual positive and difficult challenges of parenting and quite a few more. Attending Cygnet gives parents and carers an opportunity to develop their understanding of Autism and look at practical solutions to support their child. It also provides the opportunity to meet other people in a similar position and hear about their experiences in an informal but supportive atmosphere.
