Session Aims:
For all those who work with pregnant mums and birthing people, and all parents of babies.
This skilled-level training introduces how trauma affects the brain, and why the perinatal period (the time before, during and after birth) can be a really sensitive one for people who have experienced childhood trauma and abuse, or relational trauma at any time.
This is not a trauma treatment training, but we will take some time to explain how systems and treatment designed to care can sometimes be trauma-inducing. In addition we will spend some time to help you consider the ways in which your work/ service is trauma-informed, and how you can enhance this at individual and team level.
