Safer South Yorkshire - Fire Safety Awareness - Know The Fire Risks

Session Aims:

Aims to improve how South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and partner organisations work together to effectively identify and reduce hazards for people most at risk

Session Objectives:
Recognise the most common causes of fires in the home - ignition sources
Identify some of the visible warning signs that may increase the likelihood of a fire
Identify people at increased risk of having a fire through a person centred framework
Discussions around hoarding, emollient cream use and Oxygen products and their links to fire risk
How SYFR look to reduce hazards identified through a partner referral via educational behaviour change and resource provision as needed
Inform partners what’s involved in a Home Fire Safety Visit by SYFR staff when a referral is made
Be aware of what SYFR can and can’t do when visiting people in the community
Understand how to make a referral to SYFR through a dedicated secure referral portal
How to become a referral partner with SYFR - next steps
