Hunter’s Bar Infant School is located within the vibrant Ecclesall and Sharrow Vale Road shopping areas in which there are numerous amenities, along with many cafés and restaurants. The school is also situated close to both Endcliffe Park and the Botanical Gardens.

There are approximately 270 children in the school and the staff team work hard to get to know all the children and their families very well which helps to create a ‘small school feel’. The school is fortunate in having 90 children in each year group, creating three classes in each of the Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 teams.

The original school building was completed in 1892 and houses four classrooms. An extension, built in 1983, provides three classrooms for the Foundation Stage, library and computer suite. The school also has a newly installed, modern block (known by the children as ’The Pod’) which houses two of our Year 2 classes.
