Tierney offers tuition in the following subjects:
• saxophone (soprano, alto and tenor)

• theory of music
• composition
• beginner's guitar
• general music performance

I tutor a wide range of people of all abilities and disabilities, from children aged 7 years to older people. I make sure that the student's interest and talents are always engaged and that they are assisted in their learning of new pieces or theory. I also coach students towards instrumental and theory exams.

Tuition takes place at a hired room in a local church in S11. Her teaching hours are flexible to suit the needs of her students. Weekday evenings are available at negotiable times in 1 hour or half hour slots, from £14.00 per half hour. These prices are provided by Tierney Kirby, please check them yourself for accuracy.

She has been teaching and mentoring students for the past 14 years. She teaches from beginner's level music (in many aspects) to university level. She has an undergraduate degree (BMus), a Masters degree in performance and composition (MMus), specialising in performance and composition from the University of Sheffield, where she also taught performance and composition at university level. She also has a PGCE. Her first study instrument is the alto saxophone.
