Sheffield Music Academy

Sheffield Music Academy exists to inspire excellence and provide specialist training for over 140 young people aged 6-18yrs with outstanding musical ability, dedication and potential across Sheffield and the surrounding area. 

Under the Academy’s guidance, students can develop their talent, grow in self-confidence, achieve fulfilment through performance and in turn make positive contributions to the musical activities of their schools and communities. The work of the Academy is enjoyed by the wider public through over 40 public performances a year, in locations such as the Sheffield Cathedral, Sheffield City Hall, schools, community centres and local churches.

Sheffield Music Academy employs 35 tutors with expertise across the full range of instrumental and vocal studies. These tutors have been handpicked by SMA’s Music Director and travel from across the UK to work with our students.

Time details

You can contact us on Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays 9.30am - 4.30pm and on Saturdays until 1pm.

Eligibility criteria for your service and any priority groups

Students wishing to join the Academy will need to complete an application found on our website www.themusicacademy.eu and will then need to pass audition.
