Sheffield Educational Psychology Service
Mainly a specialist service but timely intervention can sometimes prevent issues becoming more complex.
- The Service consists of a team of Educational Psychologists and an admin team.
- All Educational Psychologists are qualified practitioners, and registered with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council)
- Most practicing psychologists are also members of the Association of Educational Psychologists, and/or the British Psychological Service
Eligibility criteria for your service and any priority groups
Children and young people who have, or are likely to have complex and long term special educational needs and disabilities. Looked After Children who are in public care are also prioritised.
Parental/Carer consent is always required before direct involvement with children is agreed.
Most often involvement is via the school SENCO or through request for involvement from another profession or service.
General advice on child development issues, information leaflets and sign posting to useful websites and resources is available to any parent, professional and young person on request (in writing, email or telephone call ) as part of our open access policy.
