KeyRing Sheffield

In Sheffield KeyRing will work with you.

People call what we do independent living support. That means you’ll get help to build skills and make friends and connections. Your life will get bigger. In fact if we do it well, you’ll soon find that you need us less and less.

You might get support from us because you want to take better care of your home, or your health. You might want to get to know more people and have some friends to do stuff with. Or you might want to fill your days with something meaningful or important to you like work or volunteering.

Your support is flexible. This means that when you meet with your support worker it will be at a time and place that fits in with your life. The best bit about KeyRing is that some of your support time can be spent getting to know other people and doing things you want to do.

There are a few options available to you:

You can become part of KeyRing Connect. This means you can come to all our hubs where KeyRing people meet. You can get support from KeyRing there and also meet other people, make plans or learn something new.

We hope that you will make friends and learn about things going on in your area too.

We’ll help you be ambitious and challenge yourself as well as having fun.

If you need a bit more one to one support you can join our Network. This gives you all the opportunities of KeyRing Connect with up to 3 hours of time with your support worker every week. Remember this is support at a time and in a place that works for you. You’ll start by thinking about what you want to achieve and make a plan to get there. This is sometimes called a support plan.

You can also buy KeyRing support hours. This is useful if you need a bit more support than the network place.

Don’t worry if you’re not sure what is right for you or someone you know, Kathryn can help you explore what might work.

Just a little note. You may have heard about ISFs or Individual Service Funds. We are happy to work with anyone that has an ISF and can help you explore how to get the most from your money. An ISF is a way of taking the money available for your care and support needs and asking an organisation like KeyRing to help you spend it wisely.

What types of things can I do through Connect?

Who knows? It’s kind of up to you. Our role is to find a venue and help you get there. What you do there can change every week. And it’s not just the things that we organise. So Kyle, loves gaming and helped set up a gaming group. So you might join that or set something up of your own.

Some sessions have a focus on learning new skills like getting the most out of your smart phone or learning a new healthy recipe. Other sessions can be about having a cuppa and a chat. Check out the planner for more ideas of things we’ve done.

What if I’m receiving support from another provider?

No problem, you will probably only need the connect package. In fact, why don’t you give us a shout and you can bring your support worker with you (or someone else) and have a nosey at what we do.

I like the sound of the network but what if I need additional support?

Don’t worry your support is flexible. We can talk with you about this.
