Sheffield Beekeepers Association (SBKA)
Sheffield Beekeepers' Association is open to all beekeepers and people interested in beekeeping in Sheffield and surrounding areas. The association provides a forum for members to meet, discuss and learn about beekeeping and has monthly meetings with talks by experienced beekeepers, question and answer sessions and presentations.
The objects of the association are:
• To promote, support and further the craft of amateur beekeeping for all its members
• To raise awareness to the importance of bees and beekeeping to the environment
SBKA started in January 2011 and aims to:
• provide training courses for experienced beekeepers, beginners and novices
• provide assistance with discounted purchases and specialised equipment
• run Honey Shows
• provide information on how to produce honey and allied products for sale and present prize winning products for the show bench.
• develop "queen rearing" as students progress
Meets in S10 once a month.
