Education and Family Learning

Adult education includes accredited job skills training such as health and safety, childcare, health and social care, catering. Some organisations offer apprenticeships. There are also more recreational courses such as art classes, IT classes, writing groups, language and conversation clubs for you to join.

Children in Employment

For many young people part time employment can offer great experience as well as extra pocket money. However there are regulations in place to protect and safeguard children. These detail where, when and how long a young person under 16 may work and children in employment need a work permit from the City Council’s children in employment and entertainment team.
