Inspirations Quality Day Time Opportunities
Inspirations offers a bespoke person centred service for individuals with a learning disability who receive direct payments/indicative budget. The service is aimed at people who wish to lead a fulfilling life, pursuing activities and interests which they enjoy.
We have a good work ethos around supporting people by offering a holistic and consistent approach, ensuring that individuals well-being is of the uppermost priority and that the service is led by individuals that attend.
Inspirations endeavours to create a welcoming setting where we aim to support and enable people to reach their full potential through accessing a variety of activities and interests, whilst promoting inclusion through working within the local and wider community.
Our priority is to get out and about in the community integrating with local groups where we will open up opportunities for individuals to engage in a variety of activities which will include sports, e.g. crown green bowling, ten pin bowling, bocca, curling etc. walking within the counrtyside, Dram, music, media, singing, pet therapy (walking the retired greyhounds), gardening within the walled garden project in Hillsborough Park. We also offer Ballroom dancing, occasional outings to the coast, cinema visits, project work, arts & crafts, meals out, independent living skills, music and drama, social events, sports with a sports trainer. We also help with life skills including cooking, budgeting, cleaning, signposting individuals to health related activities such as cookery courses, healthy living/healthy heart courses working in conjunction wherever possible with external appropriate resources and a whole lot more. Our service creates a platform for individuals to meet new people and have fun and adventurous, exciting days. We are always open to try new experiences and ideas.

Inspirations is jointly run by Richard Wagland and Susan Dimler who have many years experience of working for Sheffield City Council Learning disability services. During this time we have both held a variety or roles within the service ranging from providing hands on support, working with a wide range of diagnosis i.e. dementia, aspergers, autism, older people, mental mental, to then becoming part of the management team where we managed a team of workers, to fulfil the roles of working both within day services and supported living, managing individuals within a supported living environment across Sheffield.
Our qualifications:-
Susan has an NVQ level 3 in Social Care and also has experience of working with older people, dementia/mental health, adults with a learning disability and holds a Qualification in Dementia care mapping.
Angela has a QCF level 3 in Social Care and holds a certificate for assessing QCF in social care, having had many years experience of working with older people, adults with dementia, mental health issues, adults with a learning disability, children and families, physical disabilities as well adults with a learning disability.
